An executive visit inspires for the future

This month we were delighted to welcome Dong Li, founder of Leoch, to our Leicestershire-based office. Dong Li is an inspiration to us all, having built the company from humble beginnings in 1999, to the $1.75billion business it is today.

With drive, determination and an eye for pushing success, Dong Li spoke to us about his vision for the future, and how we can play our part in ambitious plans for expansion and growth.

Phil Hardy, Sales Director for UK and Ireland, was part of the team who spent the day with Dong Li.

Phil said: “Due to the pandemic, it’s been three years since Dong Li was last able to visit us. His visit this year gave us the perfect opportunity to look back at how far we’ve come since he last visited in 2019.

“Three years ago we were in a period of stabilisation due to a change in management. Since then, and despite the issues presented to us by the pandemic, we have enjoyed organic year-on-year growth, which we were delighted to demonstrate to Dong Li.

“We share in Dong Li’s vision for the future – that after enjoying this growth, now is the time to push forward and drive for ambitious targets which will challenge us all.

“After all, Dong Li wouldn’t have built a company of over 14,000 employees all over the world, without striving for bold and challenging goals.”

Dong Li spends much of his time travelling around the globe, visiting his team which are spread over many different sites, including ten production facilities.

Much of Leoch’s success has been based around its research and development work, meaning that the company spearheads new and impressive technologies.

Phil said: “Dong Li has big visions for the future, including expanding our share of the UK battery market and ensuring that we are at the forefront of technological advancements.

“We know we have the recipe for success: ambitious targets and hard work, backed up by a superior product.”
