The Leoch Battery UK team have been busy this September as real life, in-person exhibitions returned following a Covid-19 induced break.
Melissa Evans, Jessica Shaw, Meghan Hughes, Phil Passingham and Chris North were pleased to hit the road and attend our first live shows since 2019! We were delighted to see real people face-to-face again after more than a year of only seeing people through screens.
First up we exhibited at Naidex at Birmingham NEC, Europe’s most established event dedicated to the future of healthcare and independent living.
Melissa, Jessica, Meghan, Phil and Chris manned the stand and were the only battery manufacturers to attend. Initially, when we booked the stand space in 2019, we were excited to launch our LDC range, which is exclusive technology to Leoch and was made available in sizes appropriate for mobility scooters. Additionally, due to a huge interest in lithium batteries in the healthcare industry lately, we were more than happy to educate visitors on the power of lithium and its benefits, such as how it can be a more environmentally friendly option that lasts longer and that lithium batteries are generally lighter than the standard lead acid batteries. This is a huge advantage for those in the health, social care and mobility sectors who may struggle with lifting battery powered vehicles and equipment.
Next up was the Vertikal Days, a show for aerial work platforms and cranes held at the East of England Showground in Peterborough. Again, we were the only battery manufacturers with a stand at the event. Whilst showcasing the range of batteries we have to offer this niche market, including our AGM DT, LDC and lithium technology range, we also shared our stand with Platform Controller, a company that builds control panels for machinery. The racing mini built by Platform Controller created a real buzz, drawing people to our stand, so too did the portable sustainable generators provided by our customer Power Saving Solutions that run on our lithium batteries and powered the stand.
Our stands at both shows were well received as were the various free gifts we were giving away! Our free hand sanitisers were particularly popular as visitors continue to be focused on keeping themselves, their staff and others safe.
The team really enjoyed interacting with people face-to-face again, seeing customers and connections, as well as meeting new potential customers – nothing compares to the feel of a physical show!
