Returning to your Boat after Lockdown

01/05/2020

You may have seen from the change to our branding throughout the website and social media channels that DBS Leoch was recently acquired by Leoch, one of the largest battery manufacturers in the world to form a new company, Leoch Battery UK Ltd. The agreement with Leoch provides us with a market-leading range of the latest leisure and industrial battery technology available.

We now have access to even more resources and expertise from Leoch’s global technical team, meaning that boating customers can rely on us for the best advice and support on the market.

With the leisure market temporarily shut during the coronavirus lockdown and with no current return date outlined, those eyeing up a return to their boat need to think about their battery. When the restrictions have been lifted and you can return, it is a good idea to check to see if your batteries have self-discharged and if any maintenance is required.

Your batteries should be one of the first things that you check when you’re back on board. Depending on which batteries you use to power your boat, they will naturally have discharged over this period of downtime to a lesser or greater degree. Consequently, you need to give them enough time to re-charge before you plan your next excursion.

We’re here to help if you have any questions about charging and maintaining your batteries so that you’re ready to get back on the water as soon as it’s safe to do so.
