Leoch Battery UK

Generating interest at Vertikal Days

30/05/2022

Earlier this month, Leoch Battery UK headed over to the East of England Showground in Peterborough to attend the Vertikal Days trade show.

The show has been running for 15 years and is the largest crane and access equipment exhibition in Europe.

The team all attended the exhibition, which ran on Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th May, and used the event as an opportunity to showcase the latest in battery technology for this market at the Leoch Battery UK stand.

The team were also joined by Power Saving Solutions (PSS) who were demonstrating their Hussh Pod Hybrid power units, which are used to provide temporary/critical power in situations such as construction sites and live events.

The exhibition gave Leoch Battery UK a platform (excuse the pun!) to educate visitors on the different types of batteries that can be used in lifting and access equipment.

Our LDC range, which was launched in 2019, generated a lot of interest in particular.

The LDC range can charge up to 80% in just three hours and the batteries are designed for deep cycle applications with a positive plate formula to minimise water consumption and provide a long service life at 1,000 cycles at 60% DoD (Depth of Discharge).  They are also completely maintenance free ‘fit and forget’ batteries. The only criteria being to make sure your charger can be switched over to accommodate the correct charging curve.

The carbon additive on the negative plate also helps to overcome sulphation which is associated with batteries being left in a partial state of charge (PSOC) in storage or on equipment until they are needed again. Sulphation also being a common cause for premature battery failure when batteries are not maintained correctly.

Vertikal Days is a firm favourite with the team as it not only gives us a chance to showcase our battery technologies but provides us with an opportunity to network with other battery manufacturers and distributers.
