This year has been a busy one!
As the world bounced back from the disruptions caused by COVID-19, we had to get used to the ‘new normal’.
For an international business like ours, it meant that we could start to travel again and play host to our own international visitors. This included welcoming Dong Li, founder of Leoch, to our office in Market Harborough in September. This was a massive honour for us as Dong Li is an inspiration to us all, having built the company from humble beginnings in 1999 to the $1.75billion global business it is today. Dong Li spoke to us about his vision for the future and how we can play our part in the company’s expansion and growth, which was hugely empowering and motivating.
We also attended and held stands at shows and exhibitions again. Highlights for us included:
We also celebrated some award wins including the JLR Excellent Supplier Award by Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) and being named as a Critical Global Supplier by Schneider Electric, a French company that specialises in the digital transformation of energy management and automation solutions for homes and industries.
2022 saw us break into new markets and expand our offering in others, such as telecoms, UPS and sustainability/renewables. Stay tuned for much more to come in these areas in 2023!
This year we also supported some amazing charities including gifting five Leoch AGM batteries to the Postive Community Action (PCA) group in Wiltshire to power the fridges and freezers on their converted double decker bus that fights poverty by delivering food in the community. We have also made a number of donations to customer supported schemes and causes on our doorstep here in Market Harborough.
Last, but by no means least, this year we also appointed a new Managing Director of Leoch Battery UK.
Formally Global Technical Sales Director at Leoch Battery UK, Mike Miao was promoted to the position of MD to develop and execute business strategies to attain the goals of Leoch Group and our shareholders. He also wants to focus on growing Leoch culture within Leoch UK team.
In terms of day-to-day activities, Mike works with Leoch teams in other territories to share knowledge and offer more product solutions to customers here in the UK and abroad. He regularly meets and talks with our customers to understand their requirements and then builds the strategy to fulfil our customers’ needs. He also reviews and improves our operations daily to give our customers a better service and experience.
Looking ahead to 2023, Mike wants to invest even more time in understanding the UK market in much more detail to see and explore even bigger opportunities for us to contribute and add value to our customers and our talented team here in the UK.
Speaking of our team, we would like to take this opportunity to wish our colleagues, customers, suppliers and followers a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
We will be back with more blogs in 2023!
